Strong Foundation
For the active ingredients of your skincare to work properly, they need to be able to reach the skin. This means that all the dirt, debris and excess oil needs to be removed with a cleanser and/or toner each time you apply your skincare products (unless it's sunscreen, which should be reapplied every two to three hours and after swimming or sweating). While it sounds basic, cleansing your skin is the foundation to a successful regimen.
Stick with It
We have already discussed that your skincare takes time to work. It also takes consistency. When washing your face, pay attention to the order you wash different areas of your face (for example, starting with your forehead, then moving to your right cheek, etc). Also note how long you spend washing your face and try to maintain that time each time you wash. Of course, consistency also means that you should find your routine of products and stick with it. It's tempting to try every product out there, but your skin will thank you for being loyal to those that you know work.
