Body Temperature
Every drop of water in sight may be ice, but you can rest assured that your moisturizer won't freeze to your face, even if it is a water-based product. Why, you may ask? Your internal body temperature is around 98.6°F. And while your skin on your face is exposed to lower temperatures, even in the coldest weather, your facial skin temperature won't drop below 80°F. When you apply your moisturizer, it quickly adjusts to the temperature of your skin, so you can be sure it won't freeze.
Sunscreen, 365 Days a Year
This is good news because despite the temperature and despite your moisturizer preference, cold weather won't inhibit your use of your favorite products. And no matter what, sunscreen should be a product that you use daily, even when the temperature is single digits. Remember that all sun exposure is cumulative, despite the cold weather. And clouds are no excuse to not apply your sunscreen either. If you are spending time out in the cold, you may want to apply a moisturizer to help combat the drying effects of the cold winter wind.
