Before You Sweat
As you sweat during your workout, you'll most likely be wiping that sweat away from your forehead. This in turn will push any dirt or makeup into your pores, which causes breakouts. So before getting on the treadmill, be sure to thoroughly wash your face and follow with a toner to remove any residual makeup or debris. Your face should always be makeup and sunscreen-free when you work out, provided that you are working out indoors. This will avoid clogging your pores.
After the Fact
If you have washed your face before working out, you do not need to use your cleanser and toner again. This may sound surprising, but the only thing left on your skin after your workout will be water and salt from sweat, which is easily washed away with water. However, don't forget to reapply your sunscreen before going back outside. You can then apply any other products you use, such as moisturizer and makeup. After that, you are good to go!
